It's best practice to clean as soon as the accident happens. For light common stains like spilled soda, coffee, paint or condiments any household cleaners should work. In the event that something heavy spills on the turf like tree sap, gasoline, gum or motor oil a special degreaser will do the trick. When dealing with pets, hosing down any urine stains is all that is needed. For solid waste again, it's best to pick up as soon as possible before any stains or odors may arise.
A regular rinse here and there with the water hose will do your new synthetic lawn much good. Don't worry, it will not require as much water as grass would take. Just a simple spray with the water hose will rinse away any pollutants or pollens that may be building up.
